Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to FuelScope at fuelscope.uk and to the FuelScope mobile application. FuelScope helps drivers find and compare live fuel prices at petrol stations near them, save favourite stations, and receive price drop alerts.

Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile name and profile picture URL. We do not store your Google password.

Search and filter data. When you search, we may store the fuel type, radius, sort order, brand filter, and number of results returned.

Location data. If you use "Use my location", we receive coordinates to find nearby stations. We may store a human-readable label (postcode or town) and timing information to improve the feature. Location access is always optional - you can search by postcode or town instead.

Saved stations and alert preferences. If you save favourite stations or set up price alerts, we store those preferences linked to your account.

Push notification tokens. If you enable push notifications, we store a device token to deliver alerts. You can withdraw this at any time in your device settings.

Subscription and payment status. If you subscribe to FuelScope Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We store your subscription status but do not store full card details - these are held by Stripe under their own security standards.

Technical and device context. We may store IP address, user agent, request path, language, timezone, and client type for analytics, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.

We use data to run the service, return search results, deliver price alerts, manage subscriptions, measure reliability, diagnose failures, and improve the product.

We do not use your data for targeted advertising and we do not sell personal data.

Location access is optional. You can search by town, city, or postcode instead of sharing your device location.

When location access is granted, FuelScope uses it to find nearby stations. We may convert coordinates into a postcode or town label for display. The search may still use coordinates even if no label is available.

FuelScope uses the following external services: UK government fuel price data (mandatory open data under the Motor Fuel Price (Open Data) Regulations 2025); Stripe for payment processing; Google for optional sign-in; Mapbox or OpenStreetMap for geocoding and map tiles; Firebase for mobile push notifications; and device location services when you grant permission.

These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Stripe handles payment card data independently of FuelScope.

The web app uses cookies and browser storage to keep your session active, remember your search preferences, and attach technical context to requests. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

We keep account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period. Operational logs and analytics are kept only as long as necessary to run and improve the service.

You can search without an account - location, search, and price comparison are available without signing in.

You can disable location access in your browser or device settings at any time.

You can cancel your FuelScope Pro subscription at any time from your account page.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the address below.
